Sequel to Harry Potter and the Maw(thread)

This has a chance to be even better than Maw - if nothing else, seems a lot less angsty then the prequel (which is why I put it here, instead in "Dark but lightsided Harry")

As with the Maw, the best thing about "Nexus" are original concepts and ideas, something I appreciate very much in stories I read and try to use as much as possible in my own writing. Probably the best idea here is fantastic new character of a squib assasin named Katashi - words can't describe how elated I am with this whole concept and the guy's complex but perfect characterisation. This story is worth reading simply for him.

Downsides are the same as in Maw - There's less angst, sure, but Harry is still 'lil bitch, listening to whatever the Order guys tell him, while staying in the dark about larger scheme of things. I especially can't stand when Harry is left clueless to what's going on, even though he is over 17 and should be able to fucking get out some and get informed. Yes, this is canon-like and all but what can I do, powerful but obidient Harry just don't sit well with me.

Anyway, very interesting story, even with rather immature and unmotivated Harry. Last chapter (4) was especially good, so try it.

I lost interest in the Maw even though it wasnt that bad. I just couldnt stand all the angst I think.

Me too. I just didnt feel it, I remember. But, since I dont have much to read at the moment, I'll give it a try again. Maybe it was just a flight of fancy that made me ignore it the first time around.

No angst here. Only in "Maw".

Ugh. I read it, and now I regret it.

At certain points, it's good enough to be four stars. But then it gets back to the romance/awkward Ron-as-third-wheel situation, which gets far more time than it deserves. I rank it three stars, because while it is a decent story, the bad aspects (and abandoning) pull it down immensely.
