Perhaps I simply don't have a sense of humor, but I didn't consider it very funny.

 

I read this earlier when I was going through Oz's favorite's list. I'm going to give this fic a 4/5 because of how great the interaction between Harry/Luna is. It sounds genuine and it was fun to read. The only problem being the length.

 

I've read it before, can't remember where it was recomended to me though.

Its small, cute and feel good in a way.

I'd give it 4/5 for that. Its not outstanding literature or anything though.

 

I mentioned it in the 'Almost Recommended' thread a couple months ago, so maybe you saw it there. At the time I thought it was too short to put up for review, but that was before I noticed all the 400-500 word drabbles in the humor section.

I totally agree about the 'feel good' aspect of the story. She writes a great Luna. There's a long story of hers called "Luna's Year" in the Recycling Bin, but I haven't had time to check it out yet.

 

I liked it. The dialog was... natural. 4/5

Well the description was certainly accurate. Harry did indeed try to tell Luna a Knock-Knock Joke.

Over all though I thought it only mildly funny although the writing technique was superior.

I thought it was funny, and seemed exactly how Harry trying to tell Luna a joke would play out, with

her confounding the fuck out of him until he ends up forgetting the joke entirely.

Hard to believe I missed that little nugget when I've read lots of other ficlets from the same author, who leans toward femmeslash, especially Hermione-Luna and Ginny-Luna.

In fact, I should re-read a few of those and see if any are worth placing in For Review or Almost Recommended. From what I remember, they were generally quite good, but I never really got into the author's Harry-Luna stuff.

I give this ficlet a 4/5 because it delivered on its promise and made me smile. Plus, Luna was very in-character and not over-the-top at all.

 

Decent little one-shot 3.5/5

 

The story is a nice and enjoyable read. Most of the authors stories are worth reading, especially Luna's year.
