Summary: “But I don’t want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
"Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat: "we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad."
"How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, or you wouldn’t have come here.”

This is a written as a series of short monologues by the Chaos Gods, their worshipers, and a faithful priest to the God-Emperor. It depicts the fall of a hiveworld in the background.

But why you should read it is that it's gives each of the Chaos Gods a very strong voice, as each tries to convince people to "fall", to turn their worship to them. It explores why people might be motivated to join a chaos cult, and the in the end delivers a rebuttal from the faithful priest of why NOT to join them, a rejection of the nihilistic philosophy that drives people into the arms of Chaos.

I'm making this sound a lot more highbrow, but the theme really come easily without being heavy handed, and it's just a great piece of 40k literature in general.

    4.5/5, rounding down.

It includes Malal, and Pvt. Ollanius Pius (the human), so that's a plus.

This was actually quite a good look at the different thoughts of the five, and the reasons their worshippers might have. No major typos or consistency issues; although I'm uncertain on in-universe how much a priest would know of the Chaos gods, but that's something minor to overlook, at worst.

It's pretty short, so not much extra to say, tbh. 4/5

A very enjoyable short one-shot which gives a nice insight into some of the prominent 40K gods.
I especially like how it shows the various gods as more than just "Har har, look at us being evil insane monsters" but actually shows why somebody would want to join them.

    I give it a 5/5

    5/5.

I can't explain it very well, but the way the priest's section just perfectly shuts down the Chaos Gods has got to be my favorite part. It gets me thinking that the Chaos Gods represent existential dread, nihilism, etc., while the Emperor seems to stand for 'raging against the dying of the light'.

This is short and really good.
