I appologise if this already have been posted, I tried to search but couldnt find it.

I think this story belongs in the library as it is in my opinion well written and and interesting read. The author have been rather slow to update but with the last chapter came the promise of the story being completed before christmas.

I read the first chapter, and this is a classic case of JapanesexFrench Gary-Stu bullshit. Beauxbatons is so awesome it's a wonder how anyone could wish to attend the pigsty that is Hogwarts.

There's also the oh-so-original concept of Wizarding Nobility, which is quite annoying to read, as always.

I almost stopped reading at

(For those not in the know, Sandrine is a girl's name. Duh)

But when I read

I knew I was onto something really bad.

If I muster the courage to inflict the following chapters on myself, I'll edit and rate.

 

Yuki St. Clair?!

Like, OMG. Is he any relation to Corky St. Clair, the famous playwright from Blaine, Missouri?

 

Stopped reading the moment I saw it was by The Morrigu. Shitsux.

 

Is it french nobility? if so, it's even more stupid, with France being a Republic and all.

I got to

 

Obviously this is Harry Potter thinly disguised as some Asian OC. Because, you know, he has Japanese ancestry.

 

I got really wary when I saw that Harry's name was "Yupi", maybe it is understandable seeing as the mother is japanese, but I would think that with a french father he would at the very least gotten a french name, because Yuki Saint-Claire doesn't sound too french-nobility. I was relieved after finding that he doesn't wear a kimono thinking is the best thing after sushi.

About the writing, even I noticed several misused words... but I think I've read in some chapter that they will be fixed.

Not much to say about the plot, I've read it because what I should be doing right now is boring, I should just say that Morrigu-chan seems to be inspired by Pride and Prejudice while writing this fic.

One last thing about the fic, I have a really great suspicion that the girl that Harry (I mean Yuki) seems to like (Iris) is just missing one thing to be the perfect Mary Sue, that is: being pureblood or having some relation to nobility. Which combined with the mention of a Magical Emperor whose family and heirs were wiped out, the fact that Iris has no know origin apart from muggleborn and that Harry has no (known) relation to that Emperor; makes me think that either this is going to become a Mary Sue or a Heir of... Harry.

Even after 69,000 words there is not much in terms of originality (apart for inventing new tasks) but there is mention of a future adventure to find the lost city, there is a semi-hidden plot by Harry and it seems Yuki (Harry) won't be a pussy. So I'm hoping this will get better once the Tournament ends.

In any case, even if we don't take into account the japan-rocks theme, right now this doesn't deserve being in the library.

 

What is this? How do you get Yuki from Harry?

It's worlwide nobility, including France. But the author does mention that the nobility holds power only with the purebloods now that Monarchy has been abolished.

Kinda reminds me of French people descended from noble families, who go around being called Marquis, Duke or whatever in a Republic. It is as pathetic as it sounds, both in the fic and in RL.

Harry, being one of the leading members with the highest rank
(a Marquis), is considered among the leaders of this coup.


Neville Longbottom's considered a baron, and he actually has a higher rank than Malfoy.

This would have been a decent story, if the author did not include the strange names, the Twilight-like male characters and sticking in the reader's face that French-Japanese education is way better and refined than Hogwarts.

Bah. I found this on my fav list, added ages ago. Hell, I probably even liked it then. Then again, I did have a massive japanese hard-on in fanfics back then.

I tried to defend this somewhat, but I gave up in the middle of writing. While it's not 0/5, it's still pretty bad. I'd give it a 2/5 though. And only because I somewhat like the idea, and still have the somewhat shameful super!oc!japanese!hard-on going >_>'

The only fic of hers worth reading is her LOTR crossover. And it's only worth reading since most of the other LOTR crossovers are elf slash shit.
