I was reading through BajaB's stories after reading Dark Marauder and read this one. It's a very different take on Fudge and the ending is a bit of a surprise. Another 4.5/5 for BajaB

That was a unique and different way to play time travel. Not the method but the person to send back. Would almost be willing to read a set about the pasts that Fudge failed in other than canon.

 

Seeing Fudge sent back though time to do the right thing was a refreshing change from the normal Potter timetravel story's, this fic could be expanded into a political story but it would not be harry centric, but it would be different

I don't like Fudge in cannon and I really hate him in fannon where he goes from being a 'I refuse to admit it because of what it would cause, there are better explainations' to 'I am on the deatheaters payroll' or 'I am a deatheater' or worst of all 'I am an incompetent fuckwit.'

However this was a good story. While I can not see the fannon Fudge doing this, the cannon one would. I would never call that one anything but afraid, and many politians would have done the same. I mean who trusts a boy, especially one who has been though as much as Potter, over the laws of Magic. Dead is Dead, etc.

4.5/5 Brillent work.

Didn't find it when I searched, so probably not.

 

I would have disliked it had it not been for the last bit where it's revealed that Fudge is a time traveller. Otherwise there'd be no reason for his change of character. As it is, it's still far too short, but pretty good all the same. 4/5, losing a point for lack of detail/depth.

I love the idea that Fudge is travel through time again and again, not because he is a good person, but so people will remember him as the very best. His complete selfishness thrills me.

BajaB is awesome as well as a bunch of her fics. But I do think this has been posted... or maybe I am just remembering the last one recommended.

 

I read some of this awhile back. I never really got into this. Not the best of Baja's work. 2/5 for the effort.

 

Exactly what I liked about the idea as well! As a one-shot, 5/5... sadly this feels more like a prologue (Maybe that's just my wishful thinking) for a story that could be completely awesome.

4.5/5 for BajaB since this needs to be made into a proper story

 

Well it's fairly short, so there's not much to comment on.

The fic wasn't too bad, but considering how short it was there wasn't much of an opportunity for its own particular idea to develop. Considering the how unlikely it is that it will ever be returned to, I can only give it a 3/5. Borderline "Meh."

I liked the one shot. As -Pink Boa mentioned the Minister's true motivation is what actually makes the piece.

But something was missing that would really make me jump out of my seat like some other one shots that have been posted here.

Still I think this is library worthy. 4/5

 

I loved this one too. I'm so used to thinking of Cornelius Fudge, usually prefaced by various unflattering epithets (my favorite so far is "brass balls for brains Fudge") because he's an idiot in canon, that it was a nice change to see this fic where he grows a brain, even if he's just planning on doing a Scrimgeour without antagonizing Harry Potter.

And yeah, I'd totally love to see a multichapter version of this.

 

meh. it was ok. it was a nice idea and got me thinking, but really just didn't catch me, like other one shots can. it had a good idea and was promising in my opinion

Shoot, I keep forgetting to rate these things. 4/5 (3/5 for overall technical stuff and 1/5 extra for sheer genius in choosing Cornelius Fudge as the time traveller)
