Welcomed by the team with a gamut of reactions, from open disbelief to full support, Dresden and the Leverage team quickly find themselves embroiled in a war between immortals where even their collective skills might not be enough to ensure victory. Or, for that matter, survival. Because ancient powers are stirring in the modern world, and they don't seem to much care who they trample as they go about settling their old feuds, once and for all.

It's been awhile since I thought of Leverage, which I suppose is fitting since it's been awhile since the Dresden Files were at their peak. The summary does a nice job of explaining the plot, but I really just enjoyed how Dresden fit in, and it wasn't Winter Knight Dresden or pop culture quipping Dresden but slightly after Summer Knight to Dead Beat Dresden in the vague time that's always fun to explore.

The Leverage characters got their chance to shine, I don't know them as well but they manage to be as clever as always. So often in fanfiction we're told people are smart, it's nice to see them actually being smart.

It's a nice story, 108k words which is enough to feel solid but not overstay, I'd give it 4/5 because I've read better but I'm quite happy to have found it and hope the author will keep writing.

 

Writing’s competent, but it didn’t work for me. Story was boring enough for me to abandon it like four chapters in. It reads like a first draft in sore need of revision. This might just be a personal taste issue though; I’m not familiar with either fandom.
