Really good Evangelion fic. The Character interaction between Shinji/Rei is very good and the romance actually enhances the story. There are many plot twists and the battle scenes are well written. Rei's progression from mindless robot to Shinji's lover was rather good, though Asuka's Reaction was a bit unexpected. The story deviates from the anime shortly after Asuka kissed Shinji and the plot is completley diffrent from there on, though all the angel battles are still the same the ending is vastly different.


Really great story left me wanting more but at the same time I eas satified by the ending even if there is some debate to what the ending actually meant 5/5

I read this story while it was still updating, so there was a lot of incoherent screaming at the cliffhangers.

Good story here. It's well written and feels very much like a true NGE story. My first thought after reading it originally was that this could easily be the divergent plot of a manga or alternate anime if the story focused more on character development/interaction instead of general mindfucking.

I don't think Kaworu's death was violent enough. Oh, and the ending offers little concrete closure.

 

I read this one a while ago, and coincidentally re-read it recently on a spontaneous search for some Shinji and Rei paired Evangelion stories(ended up re-reading two and newly reading another of the few long completed stories)

Anyway, I'm a bit distracted at the moment to recall specifics, but I definitely quite enjoyed this story the times that I've read it, some niggling factors aside.

Four out of five from me.

 

I saw the title and thought everyone had lost their mind giving this a 4/5 or higher. I read it years ago and fell in love because it featured my fav couple evar!1! Reread a little later and was sickened by out OOC everyone was. The entire thing was a hacked romance just to get Rei and Shinji together.

I went and reread it. Oh wow. There's a huge difference. There's still some strain in the characterization, but on the whole, the new story is infinitely better than the original. Props to Random for fixing this sour grape.

Wait, what? Random1377 is still writing? The man's a legend, maybe the best author in the Evangelion fandom.
