    The story was absolute shit.
The ending sucked, particularly the last 2 or 3 chapter which included the battle and the epilogue.

    0.5/5 for me

I have to agree. He turned the story into garbage. I'd rate it a 1/5. Could have been a good story if written by a competent writer.

Poor story. The whole concept is crap, the characters are one-dimensional, conversations are boring, and "battle" is a joke. Not to mention the ending.
Can't really offer anything constructive as doubling the effort already put into it would only make this an average story. :(

The story was ok until the las two chapters: the "one week later" chapter sucks, the girl who wanted him dies and the other the other gets her freedom back while getting "some" of his estate (seeing as she returns "most" of it). It wouldn't be so bad if he at least got a/some/any girl, but reading the epilogue you get to know that far from it, Tracey is with Blaise, Hermione with Longbottom and by his assistant reaction you know he is not with her (Nancy) and probably hasn't got a girlfriend.

So, I'd stick with HBP and DH rather than this story, at least cannon Harry gives a nice speech to Voldemort (even if he defeats him with a expelliarmus) and we know by the shitty epilogue that he procreates, which means he has sex because even if James, Albus-Severus and Lily were bastards, not even Harry would be that stupid to believe them to be his hadn't he had sex with his wife... or would he?

1/5. (would have been 3/5 had he abandoned the story before writing the last two chapters)

It started "okay" but I just could not get through it. I didn't even bother getting to the end, I was bored out of my mind way before it.

    Boring.

I had followed his work since the start, decent writing, though I would have liked more fighting scenes. Initially I would have rated this as 3/5, but now it's 1/5 because of sheer idiocy in the end. It was rushed, disappointing and I could clearly see that he lost interest in the story in the end.

Yeah? Well I think the story lost interest in him.

I actually wouldn't say Crys lost interest in the fic so much as coming to his senses regarding it. It was a shitty fail-premise from the get-go (if taken seriously), and thus the fic, from the first chapter on, could only ever turn out as it did: crappy. It never was "ok" or "alright"*. So in that sense, the last chapters are actually the best, since they show clearly that the author has realised that the story wasn't working. That's something I can respect him for.

Or well, it restores the respect he lost when he started writing it.

    Edit: Hahaha.
    Yes, or that.

He is a competent writer. THIS is what the story looks like, if written by a competent writer. It's like saying communism could have worked, if it had been tested in an economically stronger country, all the while Eastern Germany was clearly broke. There are some things that just don't work.

If you want to know what the Harry-gets-slaves-storyline is like when actually written (and abandoned six chapters in) by incompetent authors, check TFF and WimVicken's place. Or alternately, AFF's Harry/multi page.

The saddest thing is that this is the kind of fic the people at FFnet probably think DLP likes.

That would be the creative writing threads in spacebattles.com (when they're not all fapping to femslash, that is).

Overgeneralize much, Persp? Many of us on SB are as annoyed by Joe and the femmslash fappers as you are.

The only thread where that shit seems to happen is the HP rec thread.

We are, primarily, a sci-fi board after all.

Also, how goes the sequel to D&R?

I'm probably being unfair to the site, but it's a little telling that you know exactly what I am talking about. :). (Since it's not germane to DLP, I'll put my observation into spoiler tags so folks can ignore it easily):
I'm probably overgeneralizing, but when the ambassador for the site (Joe) is such a puerile cunt, it's pretty easy to do. I only hit a handful of threads there when I would visit, but said user seemed to be everywhere I went, doing one of five things: wanking to femslash, bawing about his colorful history with Shezza and/or DLP, posting massive images of subpar artwork to rec threads, shouting down anyone's ideas for a story, or complaining at length about how the latest recommended story sucked ass. It's like all the worst stereotypes of DLP rolled up into a single user. The mods seemed to tolerate it, so I figured it must be site policy or something.
The D&R sequel is coming along, but I've set it aside for a couple original fiction projects at present. (That, and I'm stuck on a scene). Thanks a bunch for the interest and, regarding SB, I apologize for unfairly lumping the whole site in with the worst.

I think it started out good, but the extreme Ron bashing along with the general deteriation of the fic made me stop reading it near the end... I give it a 2/5...

Someone rec'd this? No... Just no.

At this stage isn't it a general rule that anything new on FFA that isn't Jbern, Ruskbyte or Draco664 is invariably complete shit?

1/5 (this deserves a zero though).

Jeconais's Perfect Slytherins is an enjoyable story, albeit one that hasn't updated in several months, and I still read Viridian/S'TarKan updates when they come out.

Supposedly, FFA are going to be adding new authors in the not-so-distant future. It only makes sense, given how so many of their stable have retired from fanfiction. Perhaps they'll invite some active writers putting out quality prose.

Nowai. He'd have written it as such.

    Abandoned.
    (because this shit is stupid.)
(And fuck you for thinking that I'd want to write such a story.)

That Crys wanted to willingly rape his eyeballs with fail, for the sake of putting out a finished story, won't endear me to him. I'm actually starting to think he's been dipping in the Kinsfire sauce.

    This story sucked.

No one but a scant few had a single moral or ethical bone in their body. Where was the apoplectic homicidal rage on the part of the various adults, as there would be in real life?

Why wasn't Fudge saying, "Sorry Lucius, I like you're money and all, but you do understand that this is so politically damning that the only way I'm going to get out being unfit for being the Ministry's janitor is if I now ram a bunch of legislation through making this illegal and sending you to prison for it. No hard feelings, old chap; it's nothing personal, you know."?

Why is it that people keep thinking that just because something is written down in a law book, it's a law? Once the state stops enforcing laws, they cease to be laws. Why wasn't the entire ministry saying, "sorry, we're not enforcing that one with a 100 foot pole, and if you even try to enforce that contract yourself, we'll throw you in prison for it."?

Perhaps I speak too soon, but for the love of God, I can't make a contract with you that lets you punch me in the face, or rape me, or kill me, or otherwise break the law with respect to me. It's NOT A VALID CONTRACT.

Where was the fucking wizengamot? Why weren't they ramming through legislation against this sort of shit faster than Fudge could have proposed it, rather than sitting there passively?

Fuck, after finding out that not a fucking person in my own school had a moral bone in their body, I would have contacted Voldemort and asked him how I can sign up.

You know your story fails spectacularly when Voldemort and his band of merry men is MORE MORAL than the society you live in. JESUS CHRIST. I want the hour I spent reading this shit back.

And how DARE he kill Daphne. FUCK HIM. 1/5, only 1 because I can't give him a fucking 0.

There is, in fact. It's called DearS, by Peach Pit.

But that would make sense and not make for a good story... oh wa-

Hmm so it would have one good thing going for it then instead of none I suppose.

Started out well, quickly became by far the worst he's ever written. 1/5. If I could rate it lower, I would.
