It might just be me but I think this story just sucks, the foot notes while at first amusing became really fucking annoying somewhere near the middle of chapter 2.

I actually liked the footnotes. Sure, they place might be a bit awkward (they'd probably work better in corners just after the spot they comment on), but I found most of them at least slightly amusing, if not outright funny.

I think the important thing is not to take this story too seriously. See it just a little spoof of Discworld in HP setting and relax following the 'adventures' of this cowardly chess genius and his sarcastic thoughts. Just a little bit of light fast-paced fun. That's it.

I don't think the author intended it as a spoof. I'm inclined to think it was, but if the author made a serious effort and it is perceived as a pardody by the reader, the writer fucked up somewhere.

It's interesting, and Harry looks fun and different. So far, he's smart enough (and enough of a realist,) that he's sure to not be Dumbledore's Pet Hero.

Not quite what I expected, but nice and fun. (I was afraid it'd be a totally Rincewind!Harry, which would've sucked.) I like it.

Tehan: thanks for the link, will check him out. Most Discworld fanfictions are bad to the point of moronic stupidity, so it'll be a nice change to read someone who can actually handle the challenge.
